Where do your fishing charters depart from?
Slabrador Salmon Charters operates out of Pacific Playgrounds Marina, ideally located near Campbell River with quick access to productive fishing grounds in Areas 13 and 14.
Do I need fishing experience?
No experience is needed. Beginners, families, and experienced anglers are all welcome. Your guide will provide instruction, equipment, and local knowledge.
Are fishing licences included?
Fishing licences and salmon conservation stamps are usually purchased separately by guests. We can help point you in the right direction before your trip.
What is included with the charter?
Your trip includes an experienced guide, quality fishing equipment, safety gear, bait, tackle, and fish cleaning. Bring your licence, food, drinks, layered clothing, and a camera.
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Yes, when current regulations allow. Retention limits can change by species, area, and season, and your guide will help ensure your trip follows current regulations.
What kind of boat do you use?
Guests fish aboard a fully enclosed 24.25' Kingfisher, Transport Canada Safety Certified and designed for comfort, safety, and stability on Vancouver Island waters.
Will we see wildlife?
Wildlife sightings are a special part of fishing near Campbell River. You may see whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, sea lions, bald eagles, and other coastal wildlife.
How far in advance should I book?
Summer and peak salmon dates can book quickly, especially July and August. Booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date.
